I finished the vampire short.  I'm calling it "This is the Night" after a Jack Kerouac quote:  
“This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.”

I went to the mall tonight on an errand.  I had to stop into the restroom.  The first stall I entered had hair in the toilet.  Not long strands, like someone's weave had fallen out, but short, stubby bits.  Someone had gone into the stall and with intention and deliberation snipped their hair into short, stubbly pieces, then tossed the remains into ( Read more... )
